I am Dr. Nicola Stone, and my path into healthcare began with an interest in science and human biology, but ultimately became about people.

Early Influences and Career Direction

Growing up in Forfar, just outside Smiths Falls, I always imagined a career in healthcare. During my undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at McMaster University, I initially envisioned working in forensic pathology. However, after volunteering at McMaster Hospital, I realized I was drawn less to the laboratory and more to working directly with patients โ€” helping reduce pain, improve function, and guide people toward better overall health.

Although I had not personally experienced chiropractic care at that time, I was intrigued by its focus on biomechanics, movement, and hands-on assessment. I went on to complete my Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2014. My education deepened my appreciation for how altered movement patterns contribute to pain and dysfunction โ€” and how restoring proper mechanics can significantly improve quality of life.

An Evidence-Based, Patient-Centred Approach

In practice, I take an evidence-based and patient-centred approach. Some cases require precise manual adjustments and joint mobilization; others benefit from instrument-assisted techniques, soft tissue therapy, or structured rehabilitation. I utilize diversified adjustments, Activator technique, Graston technique, rehabilitative exercises, and therapeutic modalities to address a range of musculoskeletal concerns including postural dysfunction, sprain and strain injuries, disc-related conditions, headaches, and concussion recovery.

I have pursued additional training in pregnancy-related care, concussion management, as well as vestibular rehabilitation and vertigo treatment. I have also completed training in the assessment and fitting of compression stockings, custom orthotics, and custom braces when supportive devices are appropriate.

After practicing in Southwestern Ontario for over a decade I have chosen to return to my roots to practice and raise a family closer to where I grew up. Outside the clinic, I enjoy gardening, baking, hiking, foraging, and practicing yoga โ€” activities that keep me grounded and connected to the same principles of movement and balance that guide my clinical work.

My Goal for Patients

My goal is simple: to help patients feel supported, informed, and confident as they move through recovery and return to the activities that matter most to them.
