Functional Dry Needling (FDN) utilizes the insertion of acupuncture needles into Trigger Points.

Functional Dry Needling (FDN) has also been referred to as Intramuscular Stimulation, Intramuscular Therapy and Trigger Point Dry Needling within the media.

This technique utilizes the insertion of acupuncture needles into specific targets of tension and neurological activity within a muscle, called Trigger Points (TrP). Point selection is based on pain patterns, tissue and movement dysfunction and orthopaedic physical examination.
